FAQs
What sites will we visit?
Our itinerary highlights Jordan’s most important biblical and cultural sites: Mount Nebo, Madaba, Bethany Beyond the Jordan (baptism site), Machaerus (Herod’s fortress where John the Baptist was executed), Jerash (Decapolis city), Amman Citadel, Petra (the Rose-Red City), Little Petra, and Wadi Rum (with camel rides, jeep safari, and bubble-tent desert stay). We also enjoy time at a Dead Sea resort hotel.
What is the weather like?
What should I wear?
How much walking is involved?
Moderate walking is required, especially at Petra and Jerash. Expect 2–4 miles of walking daily with up to 13 miles in Petra. You’ll sometimes be walking on uneven terrain. Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea are more relaxed days.
Do I need to prepare physically?
Yes, especially for Petra. Walking sticks can be helpful. If you can walk a few miles comfortably, you’ll do fine.
What kind of hotels will we stay in?
We use First Class (4-star) hotels, including:
A resort on the Dead Sea
A hotel near Petra
Bubble tents in Wadi Rum for a unique desert experience
Modern hotels in Amman
Are meals included?
Yes. Breakfast and dinner daily are included. Lunches are sometimes included, especially on travel-heavy days, and other times you’ll have the freedom to choose.
Where does the tour begin and end?
The program begins and ends at Queen Alia International Airport (Amman). Group airport transfers are included if you arrive and depart with the main group flights.
Do I need a visa?
Yes. A Jordan tourist visa is required, but often included in your tour package. Group entry may simplify the process.
Is it safe to travel in Jordan?
Yes. Jordan is considered one of the safest and most stable countries in the Middle East. We avoid border areas under advisory and work with trusted local partners.
How is this trip faith-based?
We connect each site with its biblical significance: Moses at Mount Nebo, John the Baptist at Machaerus, Jesus’ baptism at the Jordan River, and the Decapolis cities visited by Jesus. Daily devotionals and group reflections make the journey deeply spiritual.
Are cultural experiences included?
Yes. You’ll enjoy Bedouin hospitality in Wadi Rum, traditional Jordanian cuisine (like mansaf), markets in Amman, and optional cooking or craft demonstrations in Ajloun villages.
What is the single supplement?
The single supplement is $900–$1,100 for a private room (limited availability). We can attempt to match roommates, but if no match is found, the supplement applies.
How much spending money should I bring?
Plan for $20–30/day for lunches, drinks, and souvenirs. The Jordanian dinar (JOD) is the local currency, but U.S. dollars are widely accepted.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes — travel insurance is highly recommended. It provides protection for cancellations, medical needs, or unexpected disruptions.
What about electricity and adapters?
Jordan uses 220V, Type C, D, F, G, and J outlets (most common are C and F). Bring a universal adapter.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Most hotels and many cafes have Wi-Fi.
Can I drink the water?
Tap water is generally not recommended for drinking. Bottled water is readily available.
What airline will we use?
Flights are booked with regularly scheduled international carriers. Royal Jordanian, Turkish Airlines, and other major airlines serve Amman.
How long is the flight?
From the U.S. East Coast, expect 10–11 hours nonstop or longer with connections.
Will the itinerary be exactly as advertised?
We make every effort to follow the program as planned. However, schedules in Jordan may be affected by weather, local conditions, or flight delays. If adjustments are needed, we’ll provide the closest possible equivalent experience. Your safety, comfort, and spiritual journey always guide our decisions.
